Pedagogy

Pedagogy for Post Basic B.Sc (Nursing) programs is tailored to meet the unique educational needs of registered nurses (RNs) who seek to advance their nursing knowledge and skills beyond their initial diploma or certificate programs. These programs provide a bridge for RNs to acquire a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) degree, offering a deeper and more specialized understanding of nursing practice. The pedagogical approach in Post Basic B.Sc Nursing programs is characterized by its emphasis on building upon the foundational knowledge and clinical experience of RNs. The curriculum is advanced and includes subjects like advanced nursing theory, pharmacology, nursing research, and specialized courses related to the chosen field of study. Clinical training remains a crucial component, allowing RNs to apply their theoretical knowledge in real healthcare settings. This practical experience is often enhanced through specialized clinical rotations, where students gain expertise in their chosen area of specialization, such as critical care, pediatric nursing, or psychiatric nursing. Active learning methods, case studies, and group discussions are employed to promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing programs may incorporate technology-enhanced learning and simulation to prepare students for complex healthcare scenarios. Overall, the pedagogy in Post Basic B.Sc Nursing programs is designed to empower RNs with advanced clinical competence, leadership abilities, and research skills, preparing them for diverse and challenging roles in nursing practice, education, administration, and research.
