Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery

Dr. M V Shetty College of Nursing was started in the year 1987 which is the first ever private nursing college in Karnataka. College Celebrated silver jubilee in the year 2012 and Tri-decennial celebration in the year 2017.
The course prepares its graduates to become exemplary citizen by adhering to code of ethics and professional conduct at all times in fulfilling personal, social and professional obligations so as to respond to national aspirations.

Eligibility of Admission :

The candidate should have passed 10+2 with 40% marks from any recognized Board. However Science preferable. Registered ANM 10 +2 vocational ANM course from School recognized by INC.Candidates are also eligible from state open School recognized by state government and National Institute of open school(NIOS) recognized by central Government. 10+2 Health care Science vocational stream from a recognized CBSE Board (state) and center. Minimum age for admission will be 17 years(as on 31st December that year) the upper age limit is 35 year. For ANM/LHV there is no age bar.

  • Transfer certificate issued by the college last studied.
  • Character/conduct certificate issued by the College last studied.
  • Migration certificate issued by the University/Board other than Karnataka
  • Physical fitness/Medical certificate.
  • Passport size photograph 10 Nos
  • For students from Nepal: Provisional Pass Certificate or Degree certificate issued by the University/Board, Nepalese citizenship certificate, Date of birth in Indian Almanac (A.D.) and Equivalence certificate
  • For students from other country: Passport and student visa and date of birth in Indian Almanac.

  1. Programe outline: curriculum for the course are crafted to provide students with a strong foundation n nursing principles and practices ensuring they can provide comprehensive health cere services to individuals.

Learning experiences : students get an integrated knowledge from various discipline including humanities biological and behavioral sciences to equip students with a holistic understanding of nursing .Our teaching methodology encourages active participation, critical thinking And problem solving skills.
  3. Clinical training : practical training plays a crucial role in our pedagogy with students gaining hand on experience in real health care setting.   4. Continuous assessment : periodic internal examinations and assignments are given to the students and internal assessment is sent to the KSDNEB board for final evaluation.
